Sasha organized Tsutra exhibition in association with renowned fashion designer Sonam Dubal to respect Fair trade values, traditions and the environment through contemporary fashion & design from September 3rd-5th September, 2016 at Alliance Francaise, 72 Lodhi Estate, New Delhi. This is the third year for Tsutra in Delhi and we are excited and encouraged with the outcome.

On 10th September, on the occasion of 40 years of Oxfam world shops celebration, a panel discussion was organized on the theme of “What future for Fair Trade?” Sasha CEO was part of the invitees to deliberate on the theme and be a part of the celebrations. PARAMA @ Sasha Shop
PARAMA, our customary, pre-puja exhibition began at the Sasha Shop. PARAMA brings together an exotic collection of sarees in handwoven cotton, khadi, silks in Tribal weave, jamdani, kantha and prints, Garments in handwoven cottons, muslin, khadi in Indigo, prints and appliqué with new collection in jewellery, stoles and dupattas, furniture, decorations, gifts and natural body care for women of today.

Sasha Shop participated in an exclusive exhibition at Arjun Enclave, in Alipore, Kolkata. A wide range of handcrafted items for personal and home use was available in the exhibition. We are immensely happy with the warm and encouraging response!
RJDEN @ Sasha Shop
An inspiring evening of book reading by RJ Den was organized at Sasha Shop on 3rd September to celebrate the indomitable human spirit! In his own words -“I am a wheelchair user, in spite of that I live the life to the fullest. I have travelled to places around the world. My passion is The Himalayas and conquering the heights. A rare genetic disorder has made me a person with disabilities. But according to me, that is just an accident which can happen to anybody. Since my childhood days, I’ve been dreaming of leading a life with freedom and dignity. Dreams may be broken by various factors. But I feel it’s our duty to contribute some way to the betterment of the society. So I thank God that I live every day.”
Design & Product development at Tibetan partners
SSA has organized Design & Product Development interventions with two Tibetan organizations, along with assessing existing potential of products and a POA for further up gradation in terms of designs, presentation and promotion. Renowned designer duo Jason Cheriyan & Anshu Arora was invited for this project. The workshops were very well received and appreciated.
TOT on finishing
SSA has organized a workshop on finishing for textile made ups with the objective of enhancing the skill of the artisans in terms of quality and value addition. Six producer organizations were participated in this workshop, modelled the format of ‘training of trainers’. Sananda Biswas facilitated the workshop, wherein she also addressed the problems faced by the artisans while finishing were addressed in this workshop.
Sasha Shop will be decked for Diwali!! All are invited!! We will be partnering with World Fair Trade Organization on the Anti-Poverty Week Campaign 2016.
